"I can’t believe I shook the guy’s frigging hand."

It’s the eve of the Stanley Cup Finals.  I am one of about four people in Iowa that enjoy, and follow hockey.

I’m just a little pumped that my Redwings are in the finals this year.  And when I want to get pumped, I think of the 1997 Wings, and their run to The Cup.

An integral part of the run was this…

There’s a background to this.

But all you really need to know is that Claude Lemieux got what he deserved at 1:38 of this video.

Blogger Cash Game Fun

I don’t like to play cash games, I’m not good at playing cash games, but when this happens in the first hand after sitting at a blogger cash game, I might have to reconsider my opinions.

Towards the end of my 45 minute session, this hand came up, which netted me an extra $30 to make it a decent night. (In true blogger fashion, all the money went in pre-flop)

Despite these nice cards, I’m still a cash game donkey.

Daddy Donkey

Seven weeks ago, I busted Scott Fischman in The Mookie.  I went on to have a decent April in the BBT3, but May has been kicking my ass all over the place.

So it was a pleasant surprise to get this in the mail yesterday.

My one and a half year old son thinks the picture of the donkey is absolutely hilarious.  I put the shirt on today, and as soon as he saw it, he couldn’t stop pointing at the donkey and laughing hysterically.  I tried to get him to say "donkey", but all he could get out of his lips was a word that suspiciously sounded like "Daddy".  Hmmmmmm…

From CNN,  regarding Kentucky…

“Two-thirds of Clinton’s supporters there said they would vote Republican or not vote at all rather than for Obama, according to the polls.”

Redneck democracy at it’s best.

Sitting with my friends the other evening, and the topic of conversation seemed to be 888.com’s pacific poker. Now I have the type of friends that frequent online casinos, avid poker blog readers, and frivolous spenders. It must have been one of the first times that I have heard a collective decision as to the efficiency of 888.com’s service.

I was inspired to take a gander myself at the site, and I found myself pleasantly surprised.

They feature sports betting, poker forums, poker tutorials, countless bonuses, weekly giveaways, prizes and tournaments. They have a rich variety of games as well. There is Craps, various types of blackjack and poker, video and classic type slots, and of course roulette. I found the site very user friendly and educational. For someone that has experience with online casinos, I felt happy to have found 888 poker.

I’m as excited as any other geek about the upcoming Indiana Jones and Batman movies coming out soon, but I’m just as excited about this one, if not a little bit more.

The Sunshine Family Album MUST get on air…

In case you haven’t heard, Peaker just wrote a nice column about BuddyDank Radio on PokerWorks.com.

In the article, we learn that BuddyDank was a childhood member of The Sunshine Band, which was a weird Partridge/Manson Family hybrid, that traveled around and performed for senior citizens, and actually recorded an album that absolutely must find it’s way on the BDR airwaves.

Since I’ve known Buddy, he’s been rocking some type of seventies hairstyle that I figured was a result of a monthly visit to the Cutt’n Corral, but it’s all starting to make sense now.

Look closely, I think Buddy’s in here somewhere…
