The NumbBlowMe Invitational

We at BuddyDank Radio have put our heads together and decided to put together a special little tournament for everyone.  This tournament is open to anyone out there, not just poker bloggers.

Poker bloggers run regular tournaments all the time. Some of you may or may not know about them (if you’re interested, let me know and I can get you the info), but this tournament is a special one-time event, although it may evolve into something more frequent down the road.

For anyone not familiar with BuddyDank Radio, it was created by BuddyDank in 2007 to provide a little coverage…and a lot of entertainment… during blogger tournaments.  It’s an outstanding way to have bloggers connect and as well as add some fun to their tournaments.

BuddyDank Radio has always, and will always, cover The Mookie, which is the flagship blogger tournament on Wednesday nights.  During the Battle of the Blogger Tournament Series (BBT), coverage is ramped up quite a bit, as the stakes are a bit higher.  BuddyDank Radio was there to cover nearly every event of the last BBT, and plans are underway to do the same in the future.

This special tournament is going to be a dime rebuy tourney on Full Tilt Poker. Some of you might ask why the juice is so high in relation to the buyin. Well FTP won’t set up a private rebuy tourney without at least $1 juice.

There will be a bounty on me, NumbBono, for this tournament. We’re not sure exactly what the bounty will be (money, a creative prize, etc…) yet, but rest assured, something will be awarded to the donkey that knocks me out (after the rebuy period of course).

Quite honestly, the main reason we’re doing this is because dime rebuys sound like too much fun, and we just gotta give one a try.

Here’s the info

The NumbBlowMe Invitational

Tournament # 63820195
10/23/2008
8:30 pm CST
NLHE - 0.10 + 1.00
Unlimited dime rebuys until first break
Dime add-on of 1500 chips at first break
password = bdankradio

It’s gonna be a complete shovefest during the rebuy period…which is the idea. But it should make for some interesting deep stack poker at the end of the rebuy period. Heck, I have no idea how’s it’s gonna turn out, but it sure will be a fun ride.

Do expect to see nearly every person shoving every hand during the rebuy period. Don’t come here looking for ABC, Harringbot, or Snyderbot poker. At least not during the first hour.

I’ve already seen people posting on their blogs and wondering in forums just how many rebuys are going to be possible in this event.  I have no idea, I’ll leave the math up to someone else, but whoever is at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the rebuy period certainly will have a tremendous stack in relation to the blinds.

The company will be fun, and BuddyDank Radio will be broadcasting the event live, which is always a blast… having live coverage of an online tournament.

If anyone has any questions, please, feel free to contact me, using the contact information you see here on my blog.

Full Tilt Poker ChatBan update…I’m baaaaaaccccckkkkk

Poker 1 Comment »

Me, to Full Tilt Poker:

Dear Full Tilt Support,

I understand that soliciting other players for money is a no-no, but I would like to say that I was in no way serious about this comment that I made. The comment was made in jest, as there were several other people at the table that I know. If you take a look at my account, I have absolutely no need to borrow $5 from anyone.

Could you please provide the tournament name and number that this took place in?

Thank You

Their reply:

Hello Ian,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.

We understand and appreciate your circumstances.

We have reviewed the table chat for the tournament, it was a 50 FTP satellite to the $750k Guarantee, and we were unable to find any relevant situation in which this comment could have been made in jest.

That being said, please know that we take solicitation, even in jest, very seriously, and have a zero tolerance policy.

We’ve reinstated your chat privileges at this time.

Any further instances of solicitation (even in jest), will result in your chat privileges being revoked again, possibly indefinitely.

If there’s anything else we can help you with, please feel free to ask. We’re always here to help.

Best regards,

Nic
Full Tilt Poker Support

I guess it’s not really a “zero tolerance policy” now, is it?

It’s not that I don’t care about this blog anymore, it’s just that I don’t have anything to write about lately.  I’m in a kind of creative funk…not that there ever was too much here that was too creative.

First off, an announcement.

We at BuddyDank Radio have been kicking around the idea of a special one-time ten cent rebuy tourney.  For what reason you may ask?  No other reason than it just sounds like a hell of a lot of fun to play a dime rebuy tourney.  BuddyDank radio will be covering this tournament live!!!

More information on this to come, including a bounty on me, your host for this tournament, NumbBono.

In other news, I received a nice little piece of communication from Full Tilt Poker a few days ago.

Hello Ian,

It has come to our attention that you have been abusing your chat privileges at the tables by soliciting other players for money.

We value all players and strive to maintain an enjoyable online poker environment, free of harassment and begging at the tables. A copy of the offending chat is shown below:

02-Oct-2008 00:51:45 can I borrow $5 from someone?

We have revoked your chat privileges for a period of one month. Please send us an email on or after November 5, 2008, and we’ll reinstate your chat privileges at that time. Please be aware that any attempt to circumvent this suspension may result in the closure of your Full Tilt Poker account.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,

I think I did this during a pushfest during the Mookie, as a joke, with other people at the table that I knew.   Whatever…no chatty-chat-chat time for me at the tables.  I guess I’ll have to live it up on the girly Yahoo chat (numb_bono if you want to add me).

This was on SNL last weekend, and I thought it was fucking hilarious.  Spot on impression of Marky Mark.

Bye Bye $5 HORSE

Poker 3 Comments »

I’m moving up baby.  It was pure fluke that I was even able to play this.  The level of play play is no different than the $5 HORSE, and not too far from the $24 HORSE.

It’s not a win, but I’m still proud of it, considering I was nursing the shortstack for most of the final table.

UPDATE!!! - The Dookie is ON!!!

Poker 1 Comment »

Full Tilt finally added The Dookie, so it’s back on.  Looks like it’s not a turbo though.  Oh well, that’ll be a nice change.

No Dookie Tonight

Poker No Comments »

OK, looks like Full Tilt has yet to create the Dookies for this month.  I guess they need more than four days notice, even though they’ve been taking care of it for me within one to two days of my requests in the past.

With the absence of The Dookie tonight (barring a last minute miracle), perhaps a blogger cash game is in order?

Also, I’m wondering what people (or should I say one person) will whine about tonight, on-air discussion of hands, multi-accounting?

Also, poorly organized fantasy football leagues suck.

That is all,

I’m in a pissy mood.

I’ll be pissy on-air tonight.  www.buddydankradio.com

Mookie/Dookie/BuddyDankRadio Tonight

Poker No Comments »

It’s that time of the week again, Mookie Night.  The Flagship blogger tournament will kick off at 9:00 pm CST on Full Tilt Poker.  Check the private tournaments tab, and look for it.  $13 buyin, DS NLHE Knockout.  Password as always is vegas1.

damook Of course, whenever it’s Mookie Night, that means another edition of The Dookie.  Tonight, being the first Wednesday of the month, it’s time to switch the game up from its usual Turbo NLHE format.

In honor of Emptyman’s tremendous success in HORSE tournaments this past week, we’ll be playing a little Horsey this time around.

Let’s make this fun though.  If you play The Dookie tonight, you are required to be as verbally abusive as Scotty Nguyen was at the final table the 50K HORSE WSOP event.  Swearing and cursing are not only allowed, but are encouraged.  And every time you type in chat box, it MUST be followed with a BABEEEE.

The Dookie start at 10:30 CST, an hour and a half after The Mook.  $5.50 buyin, password is vegas1.

BuddyDank Radio will be on air in full force tonight, and a party is planned.  If you aren’t listening……well, why not?  Come join the fun.
