I Love Lamp
Poker January 23rd. 2009, 7:37pmI’m not particularly pleased with a 5th place finish, and the cash is nothing earth–shattering, but it was fun chatting with Emptyman, who I busted in 10th, throughout the tourney. We share a lot of the same strategies and thoughts about playing MTT Horse tourneys, and we’ve both had some degree of success, although his is on a bit larger scale.
I don’t have any screenshots, but I was disgusted with my play on 2 key hands. Otherwise I felt pretty good about the way I played in this. Need to go look at some HH’s and learn from my mistakes.
Playing poker while the sun is still up feels weird though.

Congrats man. I consider your finish about the same as you do — a win to get there, but a loss as far as cash payout. Really got to get those top spots to make it all dreamy.
Fun as that last hand was, I’m a bit disgusted too about that previous hand. Just because I get in QJQ vs JJ6, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t wait for a WAY better spot. You know, the types that come along every few hands in these tourneys.

Way to go, I’m trying to start giving these HORSE tourneys a solid go nowadays and am happy to see the blogger crew dominate as usual. It looks as if we are all on the same page as far as optimal strategy for these tourneys go — patiently wait and pounce on big edges.
