Normally, I have to keep the volume at my PC in check on Wednesday nights during The Mookie and BuddyDank Radio Broadcast. You see, the computer room in our house is directly next to my son’s room, and you don’t think I want to wake this guy up from a deep and restful sleep, do you?

Usually I’ll don the headphones and listen to the BDR broadcast…problem solved…right? Well, this past Wednesday, a new problem presented itself. While listening to Buddy get tanked on-air, I found myself laughing out loud…so much so, that I nearly woke Numb Jr. up a couple of times.
Best…radio…show…ever…

I don’t command the respect of the blogger community out there for my game. I’m pretty sure Hoy licks his chops whenever I’m seated with him. But I gotta say, I can hang with the donkeys.

I played terribly in this thing, and still managed a cash, and much needed BBT2 points (what are those good for this time?).
Congratulations to Chad for taking it down.
For my exit, I ended up calling down a min-better who was drawing the whole way. He checked the non-draw-completing river, and I jammed with air, knowing he missed his draw. Well, my read was right, he missed his draw, but paired the card he wasn’t drawing with on the river, and took me out. Pretty ugly. Like I said, I didn’t play great in this thing.
He took a nice chip lead against Chad, and proceeded to blow it. On most days, Chad is a better player than I am, but I know I would have been a little better competition for him heads-up.
Managed to win a $75 token last night. To be used exclusively for the Super Stack Big Game.

I don’t play much cash against the bloggers, mainly because I don’t play their levels, but last night was an exception. I had to get up shortly after this hand, because I could virtually see the other, more seasoned, cash game players lining up to take my chips.

This will be my first FTOPS event. Looking forward to it.

For the first time in real long time, I’ve cashed in a blogger event, finishing 2nd in last nights MATH. Like Hoy, I’m a fan of 6 max poker. So this was fun.
Congratulations to Kajagugu for taking it down after a decidedly non-epic five hand heads-up battle. Up until the final hand of the tournament, I had only seen six pocket pairs (through 409 hands) that were 10’s or better, so when I wake up with black queens, I’m thinking I’ll finally get some cards and be able to make some noise without smoke and mirrors. Kaja had me stacked 193K to 41K coming into the hand, and I manage to get it all in, jamming after his preflop raise on the button. Of course, my ladies can’t shake the crabs of Kaja when a third three hits the flop. GG me.
It seems so juvenile to complain about cards after finishing second and cashing for nearly $400, but here’s how the night went for me in relation to the cards I was catching.
410 total hands
18 total pocket pairs
AA- 3 times
KK - 0 times
QQ - 3 times
JJ - 0 times
10-10 - 1 time
AKs - 5 times
AKo - 6 times
AQs - 2 times
AQo - 2 times
AJs - 1 time
AJo - 4 times
As you can see, I wasn’t exactly rich with pocket pairs last night, but I did catch high cards quite often. There were very lengthy stretches were I was extremely card dead, but I can’t complain. All in all, a pretty good tourney for me. Plus, it’s finally nice to crack the BBT-2 points leaderboard.
