This is a blog post…written by a blogger…yes…I’m still a blogger…
Wow, it’s been a month since I’ve had anything to say??? Not really, I’ve just been kind of busy lately, and the blog has taken a backseat to a few other things.
Where to start…
First off, congratulations go out to BuddyDank for taking down our little home-game donkfest for the second time in the past few months. I knew I shouldn’t have invited another shark to that fishfest.

Earlier this month, I took a new position with a different company. This position will suit my skills a lot better than what I was doing before. My official title is Systems Performance Specialist. In actuality, it’s somewhat of a hybrid job that combines the duties of a Business Analyst and Systems Analyst. Whatever the title, I think it fits me just fine. I tend to lean to the technical side of things, but I don’t want to do any programming these days (I put my time time in as a code-monkey back in the 1990’s). This job seems to strike the right balance of technical work vs. human interaction. It’s a nice pay increase from my previous position, and the work environment seems to be a lot better as well.

Numb Jr. celebrates his first birthday next weekend. I can’t believe that it’s been a year already! It’s been the best year of my life though. Here’s a little snippet from my personal blog last winter, just before he learned to crawl.

5:30 PM, every weekday
Daddy gets home from work, and Numb Jr. is usually playing on his back on the floor in the living room while Mommy’s washing his bottles, or maybe fixing supper.
Daddy walks into the living room, and stands just out of sight of Numb Jr., and quietly says Numb Jr.’s name. Numb Jr. stretches, and turns around to see his Daddy.
Up until this point, Numb Jr’s legs and arms have been kicking and thrashing, but the moment he sees Daddy’s face, he becomes completely still. He stares at his Daddy for 2-3 seconds, and then a big smile slowly creeps across his face. As soon as the smile is completely across Numb Jr’s face, he lets out a faint, high pitched squeal, all the time with the huge smile plastered across his face.
And that… is the best part of Daddy’s day.

That fatherhood thing…yeah…it’s pretty cool.

On the poker front, not a lot has been going on. I’ve really scaled back my play these days after cashing out a good hunk of the bankroll earlier this month. I pretty much only play the Mookie anymore, and maybe a few other lower buyin things.
I did manage to play the BoDonkey tournament on Bodog last night. That overlay is just too good not to. Unfortunately, I finished 5th of 11. Not good enough to cash, but good enough to get my buyin back (although it hasn’t hit my account yet).

My Detroit Lions laid a giant egg at Philly Sunday. We looked pretty good the first two weeks, but playing Oakland and Minnesota can do that to a team. 2-1 is still pretty decent for us right now, and at least we’ve beaten the teams that we should have, and are showing a little bit of heart.
That’s it for now. More later.
