A tremendous week…but a better ending
Poker August 6th. 2007, 8:52amApparently, with Mrs. Numb and Numb Jr. gone last week, The Poker Gods have decided to smile favorably on me.
Sunday – Cash for $237 in 2-5 NL in a podunk casino on the Mississippi river after an hour and a half of play.
Monday – Cash for $125 in the bi-weekly home game.
Tuesday – Actually won $18 playing .25/.50 NL on FTP in about a half hour. This is actually a huge accomplishment for me, considering I’m a cash game donkey.
Wednesday - Cash for $50 in the Mookie
Thursday – Take down the BBT freeroll for $650. Also win token in a token frenzy.
Friday – Only manage to lose $6 in the Friday Night Donkament while unleashing my inner-donkey (I consider this a victory).
Saturday – Played dealer’s choice poker with my Mom’s side of the family. Cash for $4.75.
Sure these totals are small-potatoes for most of you, but for me, the money actually does mean something. I don’t bankroll large. I’ve built up the bankroll a few times, but always cashed out a good hunk of it for various reasons. So it feels good to have had great poker nights every day last week.
But you know what feels even better…seeing my wife and ten month old son for the first time in ten days on Sunday, planting a big kiss on my wife, and watching my son’s eyes light up when he sees me.
